    People wishing to learn more about archery in general, archery in the UK in particular, or the location of their nearest club within the UK, should contact the Archery GB (formerly the Grand National Archery Society).

    Learning to shoot at North Cheshire Bowmen

    North Cheshire Bowmen run a series of six-week beginners courses throughout the year, with all equipment and tuition provided. The cost of the course is 60, and it is usually held at Knutsford Sports Club on Mereheath Lane in Knutsford. Once someone has completed the beginners course they can decide whether or not to join the club and, if required, can also be given help and advice on what equipment to buy (or hire) at that time. Juniors are welcome to attend, but generally need to be aged at least 11 years old, unless they have a parent/guardian who has already completed the course and is an established archer. All juniors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian whilst on the course. If you are interested in attending one of these beginners courses please contact:

  • Open FITA Star & York/Hereford Tournament

    Information about the Northern Counties World Record Status WA1440 (FITA) Star and UK Record Rose Award York/Hereford event, hosted by North Cheshire Bowmen in the second weekend of May each year (6th/7th May 2017), may be obtained from the Mel Foster, the Tournament Organiser, whose details are given below.     Open Longbow Tournament

    Information about North Cheshire Bowmen's Longbow Open Tournament, on Sunday 25th June 2017 may be obtained from the organiser, Steve Mudd. The main round shot will be a one-way Western, accompanied by a 2D Boar Hunt. Traditional refreshments will be provided, and the shoot is open to members from both Archery GB or BL-BS.  More details may be obtained by clicking here.
